I love every day of practicing orthodontics because it allows me to meet new people, build meaningful relationships with patients and their families, and create healthy, beautiful and confident smiles. It is fulfilling and rewarding to be part of enhancing a person’s self-esteem and confidence. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to make a profound and positive difference in a person’s life. The blend of artistry, science, and compassion makes me excited to problem-solve and provide excellent personalized care. I am thrilled to have joined the team at Ostertag Orthodontics and look forward to sharing many smiles with the Eau Claire community.
Education and Experience
I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in biology from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. I enjoyed playing 1st chair trumpet, traveling and making fine music with the St. Olaf Band. Following college, I moved to London, England and had an incredible experience studying Christian ethics, earning my Master of Arts degree from the University of London, Heythrop College. This experience proved to be one of the most formative and reflective times of my life. I moved back to attend the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry where I earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. During dental school, I had the privilege of presenting my fellowship research at the International Association for Dental Research annual conference in Iguazu Falls, Brazil. I then completed my studies at the University of Minnesota and received my Master of Science degree and specialty Certificate in Orthodontics.
Life Outside the Office
I grew up in Stillwater, MN with three wonderful older brothers and two amazing parents who instilled in us the values of perseverance, faith and gratitude. I met my incredible husband and best friend, Casey, on the first day of dental school and have been living the adventurous dream ever since! Together we enjoy all aspects of the great outdoors including hiking, camping, alpine and cross-country skiing, fishing, canoeing, berry picking, and traveling. We are fortunate to have lovely family and friends in Northern Minnesota, Wisconsin and locally as well. My husband and I cannot wait to explore new ways to get involved in Eau Claire’s vibrant and thriving community.
